Book Description: xii + 392pp. Half brown leather and marbled boards, gilt lettering on spine. Six illustrations, including hand- painted colour lithographed frontispiece of King Sahela Selassie.
Book Condition: Some scuffing to cover extremities. Light to heavy foxing in places throughout the book. The binding is still remarkably good. Apart from the foxing, this would be a very good copy.
Written during the author\'s 18-month stay in the heart of Abyssinia. Harris led an expedition into Ethiopia (Abyssinia) for the British government, and describes in detail local cultural and physical conditions.
