How we escaped from Pretoria by Aylmer Haldane, published by Africana Book Society in 1977, which is a facsimile of the original publication of 1901 by William Blackwood and sons of Edinburgh.

Haldane was captured and put into the " Model School " in Pretoria, which became a prisoner of war camp. Quoted from the text " The occupants of our room (five in number since Churchill left ) agreed to try to burrow their way to freedom, and decided to start work forthwith. The story of their escape and arrival at Lorenco Marques.
