The author spent three season in the Balkans region of southeastern Europe (Dalmatia is now in Croatia, and Herzegoniva is part of Bosnia). He hunted bear, woodcock, partridge, wolves, wild boar, chamois and other game while stalking through the hills, forests, and mountains. The Bora of the title refers to the strong northeasterlies that sweep through the area.
Original red cloth with gilt bear vignette on top cover and gilt spine titles a little dulled but still quite legible. Illustrated by full page plates by noted artist Harry Dixon. Original endpapers tanned, but firm and tight.
