This is copy 235 of the limited edition of 500 copies of one of Meintjes's earliest books, in Afrikaans, with his own pen-and-ink illustrations in red (with some lesser ones in black).
"Kamerade" is the longest of five stories. It is described as a "fragment van 'n jeugroman".
Illustrated dustjacket. Grey-green cloth-boards with black lettering to the front and spine. Plain endpapers. 126 pp of illustrated text.
The front face of the dustjacket is almost complete; the rest has been repaired. There are small light stains on the upper board. The free endpapers are sunned in register with the (missing) endpaper flaps. The contents are unmarked and undiscoloured, making this a better than good copy.
