First Edition of Millais: Biography of Selous, which describes his life as a famous explorer and hunter in Southern Africa.

Half calf leather bound with green cloth with 5 raised ribs to spine which is decorated in gilt and dated 1918. Frontispiece of Selous who was killed in action on January 6, 1917. With tissueguard.

The book contains a bookbinders stamp for Hatchards, Picadilly to the verso of the front free end paper. 1/4 leather bound. Features 16 plates besides the portrait frontispiece. Externally slightly rubbed to extremities. Internally firmly bound generally bright with odd spot to margins. Plates bright and clean with ownership inscription to front blank.
