This is an uncommon short work on the history of exploration, the physical features of the river, the people, and an account of the missions. In original, somewhat age-dulled blind-stamped covers with gilt on front and spine; some fingering in textblock; pp54-55 have an imprint from a plant(?) pressing, name on eps, otherwise good condition. 126 pp plus 2 p ads with engraved frontis, 4 plates, text dwgs and sketch map.
