Two volume set from the Zuid-Afrikaansche Historie-Bibliotheek, recounting stories of farming pioneers and traders around the time of the first Boer War, 194 and 169pp. respectively.

Condition: red pictorial boards very good, vol.2 being brighter than vol.1, the latter suffering some damp staining to both front and rear, text blocks of both very good (sunned due to age), end-papers in very good condition, vol.1 cracked at pp.96/7.

Both volumes bear the following on f.f.e.p.'s: 'J.Van Heerden, Normal College, Cape Town, December 1900.'
