Manuscript Americana. Record book of the clerk of the South Goshen School District 1824-1851; continued as South Norfolk to 1904

Connecticut Education: manuscript record book of the South Goshen school district later called South Norfolk school district, 1824 (1834?) to 1904.

Record book begun October 24, 1824 (34?) with the founding meeting (Voted. That a school be kept in the District the ensuing season) then added to over whole of the 19th Century, closing June 8, 1904.  Variety of inks, penmanship, and styles, as expected, most fairly easy to read.  Entries range from short perfunctory notes & notices to pages-long details of issues and votes.

We’ll leave the buyer the joy of discovery baked into any extensive account.  They might be giants, after all.

Condition is vg, minor wear, some pages pulling from gutter, occasional ink spots and stains, average toning and foxing.
