Limited edition: 100 pages, engraved frontispiece, map and text illustrations, all wood engraved, uncut fore edge and bottom edge, top edge gilt, full green morocco binding by Sangorski & Sutcliffe with gilt vignette on both covers, titled gilt on the spine, which is very slightly faded a very good copy housed in a cream cloth slip case that is slightly foxed.

Loosely included with this volume are several letters and memos concerning its publication including memos from the Golden Cockerel Press, several letters to Christopher Sandford from Geoffrey Rawson, a copy of the layout of the title page addressed to Mr Newbery and a copy of the map with a note in pencil Line - block made by Noakes Bros Ltd. This map appears in the book on the recto of the colophon.

The colophon reads: Matthew Flinders’ Narrative has been designed, produced and published by Christopher Sandford at the Golden Cockerel Press, London on Arnold’s mould paper in 16pt. Aldine Bembo type with Centaur initials. Composition and presswork under the supervision of F.J. Newbery at the Chiswick Press, has been finished on the 30th day of October 1946. Compositors: W.J. Sharp & H.W.K. Halls. Pressman: E. Wilkins. The edition is limited to 750 copies. Nos 1-100 are bound in full green morocco. Number 15
