These two volumes are part of the History of the Great War [1914-1919] series, "based on official documents".
Green cloth-boards, gilt lettered to the spine, xii + 400 pp (Vol I) and vi + 506 pp (Vol II) of text, appendixes and index, with the front and bottom edges untrimmed. Vol I has many pull-out and other figures as well as many plates printed on art paper but numbered with the rest of the text. Vol II is text only.
The contents include (Vol I) Sanitary Organization, Purification of Water and Water Supply, and (Vol II) Food Rations in the United Kingdom and Field Service Rations. (For more detail, see the images.)
CONDITION NOTES. The covers of both volumes are rubbed at the ends of the spines, which are lightly sunned, though with the lettering still bright. The binding is cracked at the front endpaper (Vol I) and the rear endpaper (Vol II) but the hinges are secure. There are no fewer than four different library stamps on the endpapers, title-pages and title-page versos. The contents are otherwise unmarked and undiscoloured.
These volumes, of both Medical Services (this set) as well as Surgery, are usually found separately, with sets rarely seen.
