The 12-fold multi-colour map of Southern Africa in the front pocket is in perfect condition, as are the inserted 3-fold physical, geological and agricultural colour maps, the 2-fold 2- and 3-colour maps showing Union Airline routes and the distribution of citrus and deciduous fruit orchards, sugarcane plantations and vineyards.

In line with its special status, South West Africa has a 52 pp chapter of its own, while an appendix on p 1133 announces the appointment of a South West Africa commission (under the chairmanship of Mr Justice H S van Zyl, with Mr Justice F P van den Heever, Advocate A H Broeksma and Dr J E Holloway as its other members) to enquire into (translated and shortened) (1) the effectiveness of the current administration of the territory, the reasons for the dissatisfaction with it and its apparent failure; and (2) a more effective administration that will ensure a higher level of satisfaction of the population, bearing in mind the existing mandate and the international rules controlling the mandate. [The commission's report was published in 1936 but a copy has not yet passed through our hands.]
