The unclipped (R3) chipped and rubbed dustjacket has a famous portrait of Schreiner on the back. The pale blue cloth boards, gilt to upper panel and spine, plain endpapers and xii + 195 pp of text, bibliography and index + frontispiece are all very good or better and unmarked except for an owner's name on the front free endpaper.
The writer-painter Meintjes's biography of one of South Africa's iconic authors may have been the best for its day and is still sought after.
