ix, 416 pages. Cloth. Some spotting to pages. Originally published in November 1937.

The classic, wonderfully descriptive, personal account of years spent on a coffee farm in Kenya from 1914 to 1931. Danish Baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke describes the ways of the country, the wild animals and the peoples of Somali, Kikuyu, and Masai origin. The work is an evocation of Kenya at a specific time, and of the affinity Blixen felt for the land, its creatures and people.
