Nov. 99, photo by J.E.M.; private photographs taken in camp and on trek and during engagements including a fine one of CECIL RHODES witha group of the soldiers wearing one of their helmets; South African Irregulars; Communication Searchlight & Traction Engines; Ladysmith; Prayers before Battle; Destruction of Colenso Bridge; Panorama of the Battle of Colenso; Storming Pieters Hill; Bombardment of Boer positions; British Infantry massing for attack; the Attack and Charge etc. etc. together with 4 pencil sketches:- Capetown Harbour & Table Mountain from the sea; View of majuba Hill etc.; Panoramic view of Spion Kop seen from the north of Ladysmith after the Relief, signed and dated 5 Mar. 1900; Panorama of Spion Kop from the south as attacked by General Buller * Sir. Ch. Warren, showing position of troops and guns; signed.
