PIERNEEF: Sy lewe en sy Werk & Die Man en sy Werk

Pierneef was born in Pretoria and lived there for the greater part of his life. In 1957 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Pretoria and it is fitting that the initiative and support for this work came from the vice-chancellor and rector, Prof. D. M. Joubert, who is himself a great admirer of Pierneef.

The book contains the true life story of one of South Africa's greatest artists. His love of nature is represented in an unique and original way through his work. He painted nature in the way he, as both a person and an artist, experienced it.

1. Die Man en sy Werk - J.F.W. Grosskopf.  Uitgegee deur J.L. van Schaik, Bpk, Pretoris, 1945. Hierbinne is 74 afbeeldings van sy werke. Large original hardcover in green cloth. The spine has been rebound with a gilt title to the spine. Other marks to the outer boards as well, but the content in very good condition.

2. JH Pierneef - Sy lewe en sy werk. Redakteur PG Nel. 'n Kultuurhistoriese studie uitgegee in samewerking met die Universiteit van Pretoria. 1990 eerste uitgawe deur Perskor-Uitgewers. 4to.  Hardcover in cloth binding with the dust jacket in splendid condition. 263 pages.
