A very good copy in the original thin card pictorial wrappers as issued. Only 1500 copies were printed. Polly Street was born during the thick of apartheid Many of the white Polly Street teachers were there of their own accord and with little or no promise of remuneration, and the centre gave birth to a rich legacy of practitioners. Teachers and students included, amongst others, Sydney Kumalo, Ephraim Ngatane, Cecil Skotnes, Louis Maqhubela, Julian Motau, Lucas Sithole and Dumile Feni. 160 pages, richly illustrated. A paperback which, like all copies of this important book, was rather messily bound, some signs of glue on the very inside of the front papers - if not for this would be a fine copy.
