Twelve owls are listed and described - 1 Giant Eagle Owl, 2 Cape Eagle-Owl, 3 Spotted Eagle-Owl, 4 Pel's Fishing Owl, 5 Pearl-spotted Owl, 6 Barred Owl, 7 Scops Owl, 8 White-faced Owl, 9 African Marsh Owl, 10 Wood Owl, 11 Barn Owl, 12 Grass Owl. Numbers 10 and 11 from this list are misssing from the portfolio.
The original paintings reproduced in the remaining 10 plates, (printed by Whitnall Simonsen) on 345 x 295 mm sheets of heavy matt art paper, date from 1913 to 1918. They are in mint condition.
Unframed sets of these plates are no longer easily found.
