This was the constitutional transition issue, on page 1 and pages iii and iv of the covers of which the words "Union of South Africa" are overstamped "Republic of South Africa" in seven places.

The Post Office then controlled the telephone and radio services and regulations for these communication arms are included. The philatelic service is also advertised.

The pale-green wraps have a red and green design to the front and green lettering to the spine. The covers are lightly sunned towards the edges. The glue has dried for most the depth of he binding but the spine and side-stitched book-block remain attached. The contents - 260 pp of English text and tables - are unmarked, undiscoloured and in very good condition.
