Full-bound in maroon cloth-boards with gilt lettering to the upper board and spine, patterned green-on-white printed endpapers, frontispiece and 10 other inserted plates, numbered with the text, on art paper, viii/231 pp of prelims and text plus 2 pp of publisher's announcements

CONDITION

• The binding is tight, with a slight lean; the spine is sunned, the spine-ends are bumped and the corners are rubbed; the front endpaper is lightly cracked and there are binding cracks at pp 102/3 and 172/3; the plate at p 201 is loose but in position; the text has medium foxing throughout but the plates are clean
• The contents are complete and otherwise undamaged and unmarked
