Of possible interest to the newcomer to, especially, the earlier issue of "Punch", this mini-collection includes two examples of older bindings as well as some relatively recent highlights volumes.
(1) 1853 1 and 2. Vols 24/25 for the first and second halves of the year 1853, in two matching volumes half-bound in black calf, gilt to spine, and dark blue cloth. Condition: Good +. Vol 2 of this set (Punch Vol 25, September 3, 1953) includes a rare 4 pp fold-out (pp 97-100; see image).
(2) 1848-1886 1-6. These six thick matching volumes, bound in heavy blue-cloth boards, include various Punch numbers, starting in 1848 (see image), continuing through the 1860s and 1870s, and ending in 1888. Condition: Good.
(3) Pick of Punch: 1945 and 1953 (editor not stated, published by Chatto and Windus). Condition: Good +. 1970 (edited by William Davies, published by Punch Publications; and 1977 (edited by William Davies, published by Hutchinson). Condition: Very Good in Good + dustjackets.
(4) Best Humour from Punch, 1955 (edited by William Cole; illustrated by Sprod; published by Neville Spearman). Condition: Good + in repaired dustjacket.
