The covers are unmarked and the corners are square and unrubbed. The binding is tight. The endpapers have no ownership or other marks. The contents, including the plates and maps, are complete, undamaged and undiscoloured, making this a near-fine copy but missing the dustjacket.
[Although the year of publication is given as 1965, the Foreword, by H B Klopper, the commandant-general of he Union Defence Force (in which he pays generous tribute to the author, seems to date from 1959.]
