There is a vertical scoring line on the spine (see image), but the binding is otherwise undamaged and marked and remains square and firm; the endpapers are unmarked, as are the text, plates and map, the exception being Arthur Fichardt's bold ink signature and almost contemporary date (30/3/99) across the top of the first page of the introduction (see image)
