Robert OWEN, Robert Dale OWEN and others (editors and contributors). The Crisis. London: printed and published by Benjamin Davy Cousins, 1833-1834. Vol. 2-4 only (of 4, in 85 original parts), small 4to and 4to. Unbound.
Rare early socialist/trades union periodical; very rare in this form, uncut and unbound. Volumes 2, 3, and 4 complete. The individual parts appear to add up to 88, but three of them are ‘double-issues’ which reduces the total to 85 (as issued).
Robert Owen is best known in the US as the guiding-force behind the attempted utopian community at New Harmony, Indiana.
