This is one of the editors' copies of a book published last year. It has been taken out of its protective wrapping and been lightly read for the purposes of this description; but remains as new.

The author was born in Solihull, England, three years before the first Land Rover was built there, and his early loves were Land Rovers and the Sani Pass, which became his work-place for some three years from the age of 23. Inspired by two earlier books on the pass - David Alexander's Riding the Dragon and Michael Clark's The Saga of Sani Pass and Mokhotlong - Colman writes "about the politics, police, missionaries, traders and district commissioners in the area, as well as tales of bravery, rivalry, cameraderie and daring".

The xvi + 368 illustrated pages of text and index include maps, paintings and many large and smaller colour photographs.
