xiv, 261 pp. Contributor’s copy with presentation cancel, completed in manuscript, “Alexander B. Hope, Esq.”  One of 26 noted on the contributor’s list. 

Parallel text in Latin and English. 

Edge of endpaper stamped, “Bound by Hering, 9. Newman St.”  Full green leather with gilt ruling, design, and lettering. Edges rubbed, joints starting, gilt faded.

Inside cover has Hope’s book plate;  facing page has an American owner’s name plate,  “Fanny Armatt Logan”.  Alexander Beresford Hope, 1820-1887, British author and politician, “was an important figure in London Confederate circles; “ a Confederate supporter and early propagandist for the Southern cause.” (John D. Bennett. The London Confederates...Jefferson, N.C., McFarland & Company (2008),  p. 40.)
