This is an as-new copy of the first printing of a revised version of David Golblatt's Some Afrikaners Photographed (published in 1975). It is a splendid production - large square format, matt art paper and 235 pages. Compared with the original book, there is a 7 pp introduction by Goldblatt as well as 15 pp of essays by Ivor Powell and Antjie Krog. An article from a 1969 Afrikaans newspaper is also reproduced; reporting on an article and photographs by Goldblatt in an international magazine, the writer claims that they so distort Afrikaners that (according to some who have seen the magazine) action should be taken against Goldblatt".

Photographic drawn-on limp card-covers with deep french folds printed in black and chrome yellow. After the introductory pages, each spread has a photograph on the right-hand page and a caption on the left.

Even, or perhaps especially, for those who have Goldblatt's first work on the same subject, this work is a must. Umuzi, the publisher, is an imprint of Random House, and the printing and binding were done in Singapore.
