Loosely inserted is a note of thanks signed by Lady Phillips and a pen inscription on the front paste down stating that the book was received from her at "Vergelegen", Somerset West.

Original light green buckram boards with gilt titling on the spine. x prelims, 183 pages, 36 black and white illustrations, followed by 32 pages listing the publishers' titles.

CONDITION DETAILS: The binding has some wear, especially at the head of the spine and there is a large black mark on the lower board - see image. There is some spotting/foxing throughout. The end papers are soiled with tape residue marks - see the images provided.
