RESTORED

This copy is in the handsome calf-and-gilt prize-binding of St Andrew's College.

In this edition of 1899, the last five chapters have been revised and brought up to date. There is, in addition, a new preface, including these words of the author: " . . . now it has been my task to add the saddest chapter of the whole, the one in which is recorded the beginning of a war whose result no man can foresee . . . "

Full-bound in maroon calf with gilt college symbol to the upper board, five raised spine bands and gilt lettering and decoration to the spine, red-and-white head- and foot-bands, matching marbled endpapers and page-ends + frontispiece with tissue-guard + xxviii pp of prelims + 3-fold 2-colour map + 452 pp of text and index with 37 b/w illustrations in the text.

CONDITION. The boards and binding remain in very good condition. Pasted to the front paste-down  is a prize certificate to W I Brummer as the best maths student in Form V. The contents are otherwise unmarked, complete and undiscoloured, making this a very good and unusual copy.
