The inscription on the half title reads: \"Henry Jowett Esq. with the compliments of R.W. Murray.\" Original white buckram cloth beveled boards with gilt titling on the spine and the upper board. Decorated end papers. viii prelims, 223 pages. The illustrations are the frontis, a view of the Cape of Good Hope, and a large folding view of Cape Town. There are 5 maps: One is a coloured fold out, a large coloured folding map and three are large black and white folding maps. CONDITION DETAILS: The binding has a little wear and some soiling. Internally there is a little foxing, especially on the first few pages and the rear end papers. Fold-outs and folding maps have short hinge tears. Aside from a few edge stains marks, the maps and illustrations are clean.
