Colonel Stevenson-Hamilton was the first, the most-famous and the longest-serving warden of the Kruger National Park, having seen it grow from the Sabi Game Reserve

The dedication to his book reads:

  • "To Cinderella
  • "Who Became a Princess"

Two-colour dustjacket with animal design and lettering to the front and text on the front flap and the back; red cloth-boards with black lettering to the spine; the same 2-colour map of the Kruger on both endpapers, 311 pp of prelims and text illustrated with 26 inserted captioned half-tone photographs on gloss paper, and a 10-page index

  • This copy (of the second edition, which came out 11 months after the first) is in better condition than most of these now to be found; dustjackets, for example, are rare, especially in the condition of the one with this copy

The dustjacket is complete but lightly edge-chipped; the boards have some white discolouration at the head and foot on the panels and next to the spine (see image); the endpaper maps are sunned in register with the dustjacket flaps

  • The copy is in near very good condition overall: tightly bound and with complete, unmarked and undiscoloured contents - except as noted in the previous paragraph
  • Jacket Condition: Good +
