The Games of the VIII Olympiad were held in Paris , France. William Smith won Gold as a bantamweight, Sydney Atkinson won Silver in the 110m hurdles, and Cecil McMaster won Bronze in the 10 km Walk.
Carl Vandyk had a photographic studio at 125 Gloucester Road, London. His portraits of Royalty and the Aristocracy, amongst others, are in collections of the National Portrait Gallery.
