Yorkshire Authoress was quite prolific authoring over 20 books, many on travel. As Mrs McGrigor Phillips she and her husband (the Laird) travelled by steamer with her car (a 24hp Buick), and Marigold (the custom-made caravan), to South Africa for her holiday. They toured from Cape Town, through the Western Cape, along the coast through the Eastern Cape, past the Transkei and Tembuland, through Natal, finishing with a dose of malaria in the Valley Of A Thousand Hills.
