Small folio, 252 pages. Quarter vellum binding gilt on spine, with top edges gilt, blue cloth boards. Only 300 copies printed by Brooke Crutchley at the Cambridge University Press. Collotype reproductions by Van Leer of Amsterdam. This comprehensive survey of 8 centuries of bookbinding has as its source the celebrated Broxbourne Library, with additional items from dealers and the British Museum. The 119 examples are fully annotated and beautifully illustrated and include several in full colour. Some foxing on end papers and title page, but still a very good copy.
