Denis Lyell, a hunter with a long and practical experience of his subject gained in Nyasaland, North Eastern Rhodesia and Portuguese East Africa from 1898, has written the classic work on the subject. As well as discussing the elephant per se and elephant hunters themselves, there are interesting pages on ivory as a commodity which include various statistical tables.

No inscriptions. newly recased with original boards and spine, new black eps, endpapers spotted else contents unmarked. an excellent, most attractive, and extremely sound copy.
