Chromolithographic title, and 95 chromolithographic plates (numbered, with Latin numerals, from I - XCV). (Plate I damaged and laid down [see images], occasional spotting).
Fine 20th-century red/brown morocco, the covers elaborately tooled in gilt and blind [see images], the spine with gilt lettering flanked by gilt decorative panels echoing the designs on the covers, gilt ruled turn-ins, top edge of the book block gilt (two small ‘dings’ to the upper cover [see images], spine very slightly discolored [see images]).
A fine binding from a gifted but unidentified binder, with 95 beautiful chromolithographed plates. This is a revised later edition from 1866 and is complete. The first edition of 1860 included more text and 4 more plates.
