This is the very scarce wrappered issue of the first Colonial Edition (Methuen's Colonial Library) of which I have been unable to locate another copy on offer either now or for some time. In the original red printed and decorated stiff card wraps with advertisements on the endpapers. 8vo. 356 pages, with  41 pages of advertisements at the rear. With 9 photographic plates and a folding map. SABIB Vol. 2, Page 567.

There is an ownership signature on the half-title but otherwise this is remarkably a near fine copy of what would seen to be a fairly fragile format of this title. Preserved in a fine custom made Solander box of black 1/4 leather and cloth with false spine bands and gilt titles and tooling. An exceptional and attractive copy.
