Well before Google street view the authors of this volume had catalogued and photographed every house and commercial building in the central area of the city, forming an illustrated valuation roll giving lot number, valuation roll number, usage, and description of structure. Volume 2, never published, was intended to selectively cover certain areas on the south and eastern borders.
