The narrative takes up with two slightly sentimental travellers , who encounter the immortals (Le Vaillant,Cloete,Van Riebeek and the Dutch Commanders,Lady Anne Barnard & others) with the sometimes discordant chorus (Hottentots, Slaves,Wine-makers,Sailors & the like).
