Before the Rhodesian coverage and the resurrection of the SAS, the 1951-1953 Malaya episode is introduced. In this, some one hundred of one thousand Rhodesian volunteers were drafted into the UN's Far East Volunteer Unit. They believed they were destined for Korea, but found themselves en route to Malaya "to help destroy gangs of Chinese Communists". Rhodesia's two most senior soldiers, General Peter Walls and Lt Col Ron Reid-Daly, were respectively Acting Major Walls and Trooper Reid-Daly in the Band of the Happy Hundred, as this small unit was known.

CONDITION. There is a small (10 x 1 mm) stain at the top of outer front hinge, but the covers are otherwise unrubbed and in fine condition. The contents are complete, without ownership or other markings, and undiscoloured, making this an exceptionally well-preserved copy of this 30-year-old volume.
