(Bound without the half-title, and the 2pp. publisher’s ads. at the end). Purple/maroon morocco, elaborately tooled in gilt, gilt turn-ins, cream glazed endpapers, gilt edges, double foreedge paintings featuring views of large houses in extensive landscapes, identified as ‘Storrs / Windermere’ and ‘Grasmere’ (joints and corners rubbed and scuffed, upper inner hinge neatly strengthened).
The text for this edition is made up from the sheets which make up vol.VI of the 1836-7 edition of Wordsworth’s ‘Poetical Works’.
Double fore-edge paintings are significantly rarer than their simpler single cousins.
