Formed in Calcutta in 1899 by Lt Colonel Dugald Mactavish Lumsden of the Assam Valley Light Horse, the Corps was raised from volunteers from various existing Indian regiments. The 250-strong Corps took part in the march to Bloemfontein, the occupation of Johannesburg and Pretoria, the pursuit of de Wet, and the Barberton & De Kaap Campaigns.

Gilt dec title on red cloth boards, teg, errata slip, 506pp illustrated.

Edges & eps tanned but balance of text in excellent condition, a sound copy. Gilt still bright on front although duller on spine which latter is soft at head & tail, boards & spine rather soiled and marked, sellotape remnants to front and rear pastedowns, all illustrations present, excellent fold-out map.
