These are the five lectures given by Her Majesty's Commissioner to Natal, the Hon. Henry Cloete, at Pietermaritzburg in 1852-5. He negotiated the final settlement in Natal, which became a British Colony in 1843. A preface and some biographical detail of the Cloete family is provided by Henry Cloete's grandson. 196 Pages.
