This is another meticulously prepared and produced book in our small James Walton selection for this auction. This copy is No 294 of the limited edition of 740 copies.

The illustrated dustjacket is fine, the royal blue paper-boards have two small chips at the foot of the lower board and are very lightly rubbed at the extremities, the binding remains tight, the printed endpapers are unmarked and fine, as are the xi + 96 pp of b/w illustrated text and indexes - all on matt art paper.

This book is an invaluable reference for the history of the Anneberg Brewery, the 1882 predecessor of the present brewery in Newlands, Cape Town, and particularly for the role played by Anders Ohlsson, its Swedish-Norwegian founder, who went on to be a Member of the Cape Parliament.
