This is copy 25 of 50 de luxe copies of the limited edition of 750 copies of Struik's facsimile of the first edition of 1905 published by Swan Sonneschein of London and Macmillan of New York 

  • We have not been able to trace a copy of the original edition and even the few available copies of the de luxe Struik facsimile are priced in the region of $300

The author died before the book was able to be published and his preface and the illustrious editor's preface tell the story of how the invaluable manuscript and illustrations came to be published at all - with the encouragement, including a financial contribution, of Governor Sir Bartle Frere
