"In three parts. I Their History. II Their Manners and Customs. III The Means Needful for their Preservation and Improvement. With a map and illustrations"
This is an exceptionally good copy in its original green cloth binding. The gilt-lettered spine is crushed at the top, less so at the foot, and 85 mm of the top of the spine is detached from the lower board. The brown endpapers are split front and back but the hinges are undamaged and the binding has softened only slightly. The remains of the gilt top edge is visible. The front free endpaper and duotone frontispiece and the back free endpaper and adjacent 2 leaves are present but detached. The contents - xii + 516 pp of text and appendix (but no index) + 2-col folding map at the front and 12 inserted single-sided duotone plates - are unmarked and undiscoloured, making this a collectable copy.
