First edition: 2 volumes, unpaginated, frontispiece portraits of Burchell, 1 map in each volume, 19 + 20 (13 folding) collotype reproductions with descriptive text (4 + 11 in colour), half red morocco titled gilt on the spines, red cloth boards, marbled endpapers, volume 1 has sprinkled edges, volume 2 uncut edges with foxing on them, a very good set in the slightly worn dust jackets.
