London: Hutchinson, [1896]. First edition (pp. 123). Duodecimo (18 cm) in half green morocco over pebbled green cloth, four raised bands. A rhetorical salvo from the years immediately preceding the second Boer War, it is an attack on the repressive policies of the burgher dominated government and an appeal for support from abroad (i.e., Britain). Scarce and perhaps only rarely available. Mendelssohn (I: 974- 75) has an excellent summary of Mann’s argument. Spine lightly rubbed, a few minor scratches. Near Fine
