  • This book - one of the rarest of South African regimental histories - was originally priced at 10s 6d

Tan cloth-boards with two-colour illustration and lettering to the front, plain endpapers and 67 pp of illustrated text and advertisements - all on coated paper

  • The join between the spine and the upper board is rubbed at the foot
  • The front endpaper is lightly cracked, but the binding remains tight
  • The copy is complete, unmarked and unfoxed

The many illustrations include the officers, led by Colonel W F Barker DSO, and several of black troops

The many advertisers include the Union-Castle Mail Steamship Company, whose flagship was then the Cawdor Castle of 6300 tons.
