A rather scarce centenary publication on The Anglo-Zulu War (188pp.) dealing with the economic aspects and social life during the war, the N.N.C (natives who fought on the Colonial side), D.L.I. (under Comdt.J.J.Hulme), Natal personalities involved in the war (Somtseu, Shepstone, Colenso, etc..), and with special notes and diary section by Miss Newmarch, C.P.W.Francis, E.A.Brunner, J.E.Fannin, etc..) and a chapter on the laying of the undersea telegraph cable off Durban. Book condition: very good condition, no bumps or damage, only slight edge wear and fading and slight spotting to page edges, text perfectly clean throughout; owner inscription at top left f.p.e-p. Jacket condition: good, very faded spine area, front and rear panels good, slight loss to foot of spine, one inch tear and a crease to lower front panel, chipped and creased along top edge, small hole half way up spine.
