- Wine Trade Papers (1860). Blue paper covers + 18 unopened pages. This blue book deals with the required alcohol levels for Cape wines to be able to complete with those of France, Portugal and Spain.
- The Wine Trade (1865). Blue paper covers + x + 40 pp + xx vii, including some unopened pages. This is a long examination and report for evidence to persuade the British authorities to admit Cape wines to Britain at favourable rates of duty, including the best alcohol strengths to achieve this objective.
- The Adulteration of Spirits (1880). Blue paper covers + ix + 41 + iii pp. This report discusses the advantages and otherwise of distilling spirits from molasses, sugar, prickly pears and other material, instead of grapes. The general conclusion seemed to be that wine spirits would hold their own provided that price of brandy (from grapes) was lower than 20 pounds per leaguer, but for a higher price it would pay to add distilled molasses spirits.
